Quick version of a review.
Everything is awesome – build quality, sound quality, bluetooth range, battery life, mic, controls, carry case, price. BUT. There is one “but”. It’s quite inconvenient to use this headphones with more than 1 paired device (laptop + phone for me), because to connect this headphones to phone *after* laptop (or vice versa) I need to manually disable bluetooth (preferably) or disconnect headphones on one device and manually connect them on second. That’s why my personal score for this is 4/5 (7/10). If you will use this product only with 1 device or 1 bluetooth and 1 audio jack this will be perfect product to buy – totally 10/10.
Long version of a review.
* build quality is good
* size, cushions (around driver) – good. seems sturdy, pleasant to touch, easily foldable and adjustable, adjusted headrest feels reliable.
* Kinda stain resistant – you need try very hard to find smudges on a headrest (very specific lighting angles) and it’s perfectly clean around cushions with heavy (10hr+) daily use
* three *distinct* buttons – awesome – easy to use, hard to miss, you will surely press the button you intend to press)
* short charge cable – slightly inconvenient (plus it’s USB type A, kinda hard to find these days but I have an old phone with usb-a charger)
* jack cable is good
* sound quality – very good
* bluetooth connectivity (maintaining signal, power) – very good
* battery life – very good (30hrs give or take half an hour)
* light indicator on a back – good (no more blinking lights near eyes in dusk or at night)
* when there is no sound for small period of time (for example 10s manual pause in youtube video), then – sound on (press play on youtube) feedback from headphones is nearly instantaneous. This is awesome. No more lost words in youtube videos after unpausing (in comparison to my previous headphones)
* reconnecting bluetooth is frustrating. I use headphones with two devices primarily – phone and laptop. Use case: morning run/walk with phone/headphones – ok, return home, I want to switch to laptop – no reaction from headphones. ok, disable bluetooth on phone (already inconvenient), headphones go to “pairing mode” but no automatic connection with laptop (win 10, ubuntu 20.04) – *sometimes* it’s enough to open bluetooth settings and manually connect headphones – works, but annoying, and *sometimes* this doesn’t help at all – headphones continue to be in “pairing mode” for several minutes to no avail and then just turn themselves off. Switching on – same story. Deleting pairing from laptop + pairing anew works fast and ok. Fast forward to evening – going out with headphones – same story as with laptop, but after a couple of minutes of struggle it works (pixel 4a, android 11). morning – same story with laptop. and so on
* another annoying thing with bluetooth on a phone – anytime when headphones connect to phone volume is automatically jumps to ~85%, but when I disconnect it’s usually around 30% – very noticeable difference
Ubuntu 20.04 (not a fresh installation, upgraded over years since 16.04 I think) doesn’t seem to be able to use headphones in headset mode (with mic) – there is a mono sound, but no mic. Windows 10 is working as expected, phone – didn’t check
Overall: awesome headphones with annoying issue when using as bluetooth headset for more than one device. If I was using it for 1 device only – solid 10/10. For 2+ devices – 7/10 (it’s annoying, but sound quality, build quality and price a pretty big factors too)
